Hi? I am Ichabod ... Ichabod Crane.
May I present Ichabod Crane. Sweet and beautiful.
Ichabod is a policeman. A constabel in the Boston police force in 1799.
The judge Ichabod is working for is going to send him to Sleepy Hollow.
Sleepy Hollow is a sleepy little village. But three people has been decapitated here.
The case has some very scary aspects.
Even the scarecrows in this neck of the woods can scare more than crows ...
Especially on a dark night ...
And some very delightful aspects.
"Welcome, Ichabod"
Van Tassel here is Ichabodīs host in Sleepy Hollow.
And the villageīs landlord and banker and - can we proceed?
Lady Van Tassel is his hostess ....
Katrina is the daughter of the house.
And tells Ichabod interesting things in the middle of the night.
Brom is Ichabodīs rival for Katrinaīs affection.
But Katrina knows what - or should I say who - she wants.
Ichabod says very firmly you are not suppose to move a body before the police has been on the crime scene.
And why is that?
"BECAUSE!!!"
Ichabod donīt want to miss a thing ...
But finally poor Masbath sen. gets burried.
But the town elders is not satisfied with Ichabod as police man. They think the authorities in Boston has "fobbed them off with an amateur!"
And the Headless Horseman is still at large ... Very large - larger than life and dealing out death.
But Ichabod still believes it is a living person who controls the murdering ghost - but whom?
The magistrate Philips tells Ichabod there are five bodies in four graves. Weird ...
So Ichabod investigates. And finds there is indeed something strange with widow Winshipīs body.
Our cute cop performs an autopsy. The widow was pregnant when killed ... A double murder, so to speak ...
Magistrate Philips gets afraid people will guess that he was the one telling - so he tries to "cut and run. But he lost his head"
Ichabod will try to find the Headless Horseman in the Western Wood. But find this wood quite a bit scary ...
Too quite. No birds nor crickets sings ...
A nervous Ichabod tries to hide behind young Masbath on their way in to see the which ...
... ehrm - witch, of course ;-)
Relax, my wee sweet Ichabod - itīs only me ...
Ichabod feels twice the man now he has the sweet Katrina with him in the scary wood.
And the three friends does indeed find the Tree of the Dead - where the Headless Horseman is rumour to be burried.
"The tree is bleeding" says Ichabod. And finds the heads of the dead people hidden in the tree trunk.
Ichabod discover that the soil is loose. And after some digging finds the Headless Horsemanīs sceleton - minus his head which has been removed in order to control the murdering ghost.
"What is going on down there?"
Suddenly the Headless Horseman burst out through the tree.
He has another assignment to chop off heads in Sleepy Hollow.
Back in Sleepy Hollow Katrina finds out you canīt always protect the people you love ...
But you of course have to try anyway.
Here Ichabod has an idea. He will blow up the wind mill - and the Headless Horseman with it.
"Jump, Katrina! Out onto the sails. Then we will run away together and the ghost will be blown to smithereens. ... and good riddance!"
But ... the problem is the terrible ghost was dead to begin with.
So now poor little Ichabod wish he was anywhere but here.
But in the end the Headless Horseman does get his head back in its right place. And decide to stop his rampage.
Although he does take the person who stole his head in order to control him back to Hell with him ...
